2 Days 1 Night
Mt. Kinabalu Climb

Day 1

A 1 1/2 hour drive to Kinabalu Park, scenic journey through the beautiful mountainous countryside of the Crocker Range. wait for that moment when we get a full view of the mountain up-close - literally breathtaking.

As soon as we arrive at the park, head to the headquarters to register for you climb. The moment you have everything organized, say hi to your mountain guide who will be your best friend over the next two days - they will be guiding you all the way up the mountain and back down again. Pick up your packed lunch and we will take you to the starting point of the climb, Timpohon Gate. It is here that we will wish you all the best of luck and send you off on your hike up. The trek up to 11,000 feet will take about 4 to five hours depending on your physical fitness. Don't worry, there are six shelters along the way where you can refill your water bottle and take breather.

Trekking on day 1 ends when you reach 11,000 feet. Once you reach this point, check into your overnight accommodation. Most will be staying in dormitories with bunk beds. If you prefer, you can stay in private rooms with heated showers which are available at the Laban Rata Resthouse. Also, only accommodation at Laban Rata is heated.

You have the rest of the day free. Rest from the day's trek and just enjoy being at the mountain. Have dinner in the evening and try to get an early night's sleep as you will have a very early morning the next day...(Packed Lunch & Dinner)

Day 2

Bright and early! Grab your torch and set off with your guide to climb to the peak. This time, the trek will take about 3 hours depending on your fitness level. The aim is to get to the peak just before sunrise and start coming down before the clouds come rolling in. But take your time because the trekking conditions on this day are very different so you should be extra careful.

FINALLY!
You are at Low's Peak, 4095.2 metres above sea level and at the highest point in South East Asia. Hopefully the weather will be on your side for you to have a good view of the magnificent sunrise over Mount Kinabalu.

We are sure you would not want to budge from such a beautiful spot but unfortunately you will have to head back down to Laban Rata... for breakfast! Check out of your accommodation and start descending down to Timpohon Gate.

we will meet you at Timpohon Gate and take you back to the Park Headquarters where we will present you with a Certificate of Achievement that you earned. Congratulations!

It's time to start going back to Kota KInablau, but of course not before lunch  at the local restaurant.
